Curio Card #18: The Oracle Card which predicted Dogecoin Moon Mission in 2017
Have you heard about Curio Cards? It’s the oldest Ethereum based NFT art project. It’s a 30 card NFT gallery featuring well established crypto artists like Luis Buenaventura (Cryptopop) and Cryptograffiti. The project launched in 2017 and released all of their art NFTs that same year.

From particular interest for us in this post is Card #18 with the title “To The Moon”:
But what makes this card so special? Well, it’s for a few reasons which I’ll get to now:
In 2021, so called memecoins experienced quite a large momentum in the crypto markets. And even better: It was driven by a very particular meme: Dogs. Prices for dog-themed memecoins literally went to the moon leaving no dog behind: Be it for Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, or Akita Inu, they all skyrocketed.
And the movement behind the dog-inspired memecoin narrative has been attracting some of the world’s leading entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, to openly articulate their support for it:

And it gets even better! On May 10th 2021, Musk announced Dogecoin will really be taken to the Moon by a SpaceX satellite in 2022, making it the world’s first crypto and meme in space:

And so it became true. Not only has Curio Card #18 perfectly metaphorically prophesied the rise of dog-themed memecoins in 2021, which by itself already is remarkable — it goes even beyond that by depicturing Dogecoin’s literal mission to the moon by SpaceX and Elon Musk planned for 2022.
This exceptional artwork therefore stands for itself as a miraculous piece of history in the world of crypto NFTs and modern art in general.
Curio Card #18: One of a Kind
Made in 2017, it’s just mindblowing how in simple, yet aesthetic imagery und 100% accuracy, the card has been predicting the future of crypto. This alone makes it a masterpiece any serious NFT collector should want to get his hands on. Remember: Curio Cards has been the first Ethereum based NFT project out there so these cards are a relic of their time only few may get their hands on.
Curio Cards currently can be traded on OpenSea. As the date for the moon mission approaches, it will certainly be interesting to see how the markets will react. One thing is for sure: “To The Moon” (Curio Card #18) knew it first.
